The Art of Survival

What is the Art of Survival?

The Helen Bamber Foundation (HBF) is a UK - based human rights organisation, formed in April 2005 to help rebuild lives and inspire a new self-esteem in survivors of gross human rights violations. It is a collective of human rights specialists who respond with compassion and creativity to the legacy of cruelty.

Art, ARTISTS and art therapy play an important role in key areas of the Foundation's work and many members of the Art community are committed supporters of the HBF.

As a charity the HBF is obliged to seek donations to carry out our vital work. To this end, with the help and generosity of many in the art world, we have organised an exhibition and auction of works donated by leading artists and a number of pieces produced by HBF clients to raise funds for the organisation.

The exhibition is accompanied by this brochure and an on-line catalogue giving full details of the works donated, with background and biographical information on each artist.

We hope that the on-line auction catalogue will allow visitors to the site to leave bids on exhibits up until the day of the live auction. These on-line bids will then be taken as commission bids by the auctioneer. Full details of how to participate are explained on the site.

We hope that the on-line catalogue will enable those supporters who may not have time to visit the exhibition in the gallery to see the donated works and show their support by leaving bids.

To start this exciting event with a sparkle we have had a donation of vintage wine from the cellars of Anthony Loudon, which are highly collectable bottles. We would urge all those who are interested in helping the HBF to visit the site at: www.theartofsurvival.org

The work of the Foundation is very important. We are constantly seeking volunteers and donations to continue with our work. If you would like to become involved, make a one off donation or set up a regular monthly standing order to us please go to: www.helenbamber.org, email us at:
