Eric Rimmington Born 1926 Red Wall Oil on canvas 2006 26x 36cm |
|
|
An exhibition and auction of works donated by British & international artists to raise funds for the Helen Bamber Foundation 5 - 7 May 2009 at Maddox Arts, 52 Brook's Mews, London W1K 4ED |
One of Eric
Rimmington's continuing series of paintings of the London Underground.
'Rimmington's quirky vision captures the contradictions of a world where the
Victorian era meets the 21st century; a place of light and dark, of straight
tracks and blind corners, of age-old grime and space-age surfaces, of
friendliness and not-meetings, that is, in Rimmington's paintings, for ever
England.'
